PIVX was introduced in 13 February 2016 by Eric Stanek. Private Instant Verified Transaction, PIVX, is a privacy focused decentralized open source cryptocurrency launched in Feb 1 2016 under the name of Darknet (DNET) before it was professionally re-branded to PIVX. Initial Proof of Work phase ended when the main net was realeased and, it was replaced with Proof of Stake. PIVX has a block creation time of 60 seconds with 5 PIVX coins reward with 2MB block size. PIVX has 0.01 PIV fee per minted zPIV denomination and no fee for spending PIVX. PIVX is built on top of Bitcoin network and uses Zerocoin protocol as transaction protocol.
